Event Details

Starting from the Sharkstooth Trailhead (10,900 ft.), we hike down to and cross the West Mancos River, leaving the trail and climbing a cairned route up a moderately steep gully to the west ridge. The final ridge scramble to the summit includes a few areas with mild exposure. Summit views from the highest point in the La Platas are spectacular. Return via same route or plunge step down the black couloir if conditions permit. Carpool $10. HC vehicles required for final approach. Limit 12. Two dogs on approval only.
