Starting just east of Silverton at 9640 ft, hike up a steep trail to beautiful Hematite Lake. Weather and legs permitting, option to climb Macomber Peak (13,222) which adds just under a mile and approx 1200 ft gain and just under a mile and another 500 ft gets you to Tower Mtn (13,552). Beautiful views all around. Return as we came.
