Columbine Lake has to be the bluest lake in Colorado. We will drive up a 4WD road up to the Porphyry basin to start the hike at about 12,300 feet at the Bullion King mine. Then we cross various meadows (all above tree line) in a path that goes up and down until we reach the lake at 12,685 feet. The wildflowers should be nice this time of year. Lunch on a hill overlooking the lake, then return by the same route. This hike will be at a moderate pace to enjoy the flowers and scenery. No limit. Requires 4WD/HC/Lo to get to the trailhead. Limit 2 well behaved dogs. Carpool $13. RSVP Clark Lagow clagow@rmi.net
SO! outings are limited to members and approved guests who are fully vaccinated and boosted.
