Event Details

This is a classic SO! hike which is unusual for the San Juans. The excellent trail is all downhill to Purgatory Flats and the Animas River, but all uphill coming out. Those less energetic, or who may want to try their flyfishing skills on Cascade or Lime Creek, are welcome to wait a couple of hours at Purgatory Flats, which is about halfway. The trail is partly at creek level, partly high above. We will plan for lunch at the footbridge across the Animas, complete with picnic tables.
Well-behaved dogs welcome. Carpool $5.
