Rhoda-Verde Lake-CDT Loop
This hike will be done at a moderate pace, but is rated most challenging due to length and vertical. Starting at the Highland Mary trailhead we will pass through the western edge of Spencer Basin on good trail, then off trail up a ridge and over point 13,434, then gain the summit of Rhoda, drop down to Verde Lake off-trail, then hook up with the Continental Divide trail to form a big loop back to the trailhead. Most of the route is rolling tundra with exceptional views. Expect the hike itself to take 7 to 8 hours. Due to possible weather exposure, we need an early start.
Carpool $13. 4WD necessary. Limit 10. No dogs.
